We got out of bed after only a couple of hours sleep. Some dogs kept us awake most of the night while the bedroom window was open...
But we got up in time and we were at Paul's place rt 6:30 as agreed, because we had to be in time before the tides would change.
This time we were waiting for Christina, she had a little trouble getting out of bed early.
Only a little later, under a cloudy sky, Paul parked his car at the jetty and slid his boat into the water. After a quick stop for some bait....sorry, no bait...
One thing he forgot...he left the boot open so some stuff rolled out and landed in the water...hahaha, to bad the camera wasn't running...
NOW the tablet, our portable computer brakes down!!!
SORRY about that....
We are somewhere where we are aloud to go on internet to preceed with our story.
So...Christina got the things out of the water, we jumped on the boat and off we went.
We had a look at the Batman Bridge from the other side, from the water instead of from land...it is nice.
Paul told us about how you can see if the water is so flat, like a mirror, you can see the tide water creating swirls, it would be really dangerous to swim, because you would be cought by the downcurrent.
Now we we'd go fishing! We looked up a good spot. Almost immediately Crhistina got a flathead, but it was a cute little one.
Suddenly Paul swept around the steering wheel (OOHH). I thought something was wrong, but on the contrary: there were actually some sealions swimming near us and a little further away...lovely. I as HAPPY!!!! If we wouldn't have caught any more fish, wouldn't make a difference for me...I saw real sealions!!!! Slowly floating and turning themselves around. WOW!
After a while both Christina, Paul and Martin were catching flatheads, all a little undersized, so they were thrown back.
Finally Martin caught one flathead, it was killed, to have for lunch, big enough they thought....
And after all the support on my part...he was very happy.
After and in between another couple of small fish, Martin caught another couple of bigger ones.
Christina suddenly caught a viscious little one....stinging her left ringfinger, got it bleeding. Dropt of the hook before she could get some slime off it to rub on her finger to cure it.....
Luckily Paul caught another one to help her with that...
The finger would finally grow thicker and turn different colours.
Getting better again after a couple of days ofcourse, but still, a pitty we couldn't bite it back.....
After a couple of different fishing spots and Martin catching us our whole fishlunch, we decided to get back, the water was getting kinda rocky...
Off we went, then sputter sputter, the boat was going slower and slower.
Finally Paul tried different tricks to get it going. About an hour later the boat finally took us to shore....luckily we had just enough fuel, he had already connected another tank along the way to the fishing spots....
So at the end, we got the boat back on shore with THE MAN Martin.
Paul was so happy with him....and Martin SO proud!!!
And we were proud of Martin.
After getting home Paul and Christina showd us how to make the flatheadfishfillets (good scrabble word) and we ate it along with a lovely salad and chips, which we bought on the way home.
Now onother surprise after being shown around the house....all Pauls cars....how wonderfull.
A couple of Vaillants, one of them to be Jacks' and the other one becoming Coopers' as they would be old and responsible enough. Jack's used to be 'Uncle Jacks' car, with a little doggy with a wobbly head at the back. I remembered his granddad very well.
After lunch, Christina rushed off for work because she had to get back to her drawings, her work...but we had such a lovely day.
We went after a 'LOVELY' cup of coffee.
Back 'home' to Marijke and George, enjoying the view again, from their house....
And off to bed, to try to get some more sleep then the last night...
Onother great day in Tassie had passed....the end is coming near...but for now...sweet dreams!!!!
